District Court "The People's Court" is the court of limited jurisdiction, which handles city and county ordinances, misdemeanors, violations, traffic offenses, arraignments, preliminary probable cause hearings, pretrial conferences, bench trials, and District Jury trials.

If you were unable to make your scheduled court date, the Judge may issue a FTA License Suspension and/or a Bench Warrant. Please call after 1:00 pm to check the status of your case.
To show proof of registration/insurance/drivers license before your court date contact the Boone County Attorney's Office. Proof cannot be shown to the County Attorney's office the day of court. If proof was not provided prior to the court date, you will need to appear in person.

Pre-payable Citations are scheduled for 8:00am, payments can be made through Bookkeeping on/before the scheduled date.

Misdemeanor charges are defined by Class A or Class B. Class A Misdemeanors are punishable up to 1 year in jail and/or a maximum fine of $500. Class B Misdemeanors are punishable up to 90 days in jail and /or a maximum fine of $250.
First time offenders are eligible for Misdemeanor Diversion through Pretrial Services; the Judge must make the referral.

If you are turning yourself in for an active warrant and you DO have the full bond amount, report to the Boone County Jail to get processed and receive a new court date.
If you are turning yourself in for an active warrant and you DO NOT have the full bond amount, report to the Boone County Jail Monday-Friday before 5:00 am to be added to the Video Arraignment Docket at 8:30 am.
If you have an active warrant for unpaid fines, the amount due must be paid in full in order for warrant to be recalled. If you do not have the full amount due, report to the Boone County Jail to receive jail credit.
